What a great trip! The children in Key Stage 2 LOVED the Horrible Histories production of The Awful Egyptians. The show was an all-singing and all-dancing tour through Ancient Egypt that told the story of the civilisation from the first Pharaoh to its downfall thousands of years later, stopping off along the way to share very gory depictions of Isis trying to gather all the lost pieces of her husband Osiris, mummification and the journey to the afterlife and the sicovery of Tutankamun’s tomb. In the interval the children were all given special glasses and were amazed by all the 3D effects in the second half that included flying rocks, snakes and gruesome mummies. It’s hard to tell what was the more scary: the special effects or the children’s screams! One thing is for certain though – the show will live long in the children’s memories and ring long in their ears!
Thank you so much to FOFSA who bought the tickets for us all. For many of us, it was our first trip to the theatre and we loved it!
