More Success On The Football Field
Fressingfield Primary School sent two teams to the recent High Suffolk School Sports Partnership Mixed Football Tournament: one took part in the inclusive ‘Develop’ competition, whilst the other took part in the more rigorous ‘Compete’ competition.
The Develop Team played four matches, winning two, drawing one and losing another. They were an extremely cohesive group and played really well together. But for one goal-mouth mix-up, they could well have gone through to the knock-out stages. Well done them.
The Compete Team got off to a tremendous start, winning their first game. Like the other team, they had excellent teamwork and were very well organised. They played six matches in all, winning one, drawing two and remaining competitive in the others, which led them to a fifth-place finish.
Once again though, our children impressed us with the values they displayed: they were competitive but played with a spirit of enjoyment; they were respectful of both their opponents and the young referees; and they played with determination and commitment.
Well done Fressingfield.

Success on the Football Field!
We are very proud of our Girls Football Team who won the Sports Values Award at the tournament on Monday. The Award, which is voted for by the teams we played against, celebrates the team that best-displayed the values of Honesty, Passion, Determination, Self-Belief, Respect and Teamwork; and our girls had each of those qualities in abundance.
We talk about that ‘Fressingfield Feeling’ all the time and we’re really pleased that, when they pulled on the Fressingfield shirt, they carried our Fressingfield values with them to the tournament. I was particularly impressed with their teamwork: the girls communicated excellently – they were clear and encouraging; they each knew their roles and how to back each other up; and they played with enjoyment and enthusiasm.
Not only that, but they were successful in their matches too. Having drawn their first match against Debenham (who later finished in third place), the team went on to win 3-0 against Laxfield. The girls lost to Mellis, but played with determination, respect and passion throughout. Well done girls!
And now we look forward to the mixed football competition in November. Let’s hope we can be just as successful there.
World Mental Health Day
Congo Class children have been celebrating World Mental Health day by creating dances to show different scenarios, reflecting feelings of worry or anxiety, which might be natural when we go through change. The children have worked hard on varying the dynamics to show moods. Great work, Congo Class!
